Prio On Demand pressure compensator cartridge
Description
On-demand priority valve in screw-in cartridge design with fixed pressure compensator spring. The task of the priority valve is to supply one or more hydraulic functions with a priority flow. The valve functions as a 3-way flow control valve that always supplies the consumer that has priority (connection 4) with the required flow rate and passes the remaining flow (2) to other consumers. In an under-supply situation (when the flow rate from the pump is less than the priority flow requirement), the consumers without priority are undersupplied or not supplied at all. ‘On demand’ means that, on the priority side, only as much volume flow is taken as is required at that moment. The priority valve operates load-independently of the priority pressure and independently of the pressure of the surplus flow consumers. The control pressure difference for the priority function is specified by a fixed spring with 5 or 10 bar.
Application
A typical application for the priority valve is supplying the hydraulic steering system in a self-propelled mobile equipment, such as a compact sweeper. Thanks to the on-demand function, connection 1 can be connected to the LS connection of the hydraulic steering system, and the steering system receives exactly the volume flow required for steering at that moment. The remaining volume flow is available to other hydraulic consumers in the system, such as brush drives. Pressure fluctuations caused by these consumers do not affect the steering. In addition to priority supply to steering or braking systems, any circuit can also be set up with different proportional directional valves or flow control valves on the priority (4) and surplus flow sides (2). For machining the cartridge cavity in steel and aluminum blocks, cavity tools are available for purchase. Please refer to the data sheets in register 2.13.
