Replacement of DSV - electronics

The DSV acquires a new interface for the parameterisation and commissioning. The former RS232 - interface is being replaced by the very widespread USB - interface. The connection between the computer and the DSV is made with a commercially available USB - cable. The function of the new DSV, however, remains compatible with the old DSV. The well proven functions such as amplifier, controller, CANopen or Profibus DP remain practically unchanged.

The device has the following innovations:

• USB - plug on the DSV side: Type „Mini-B“
• USB - plug now easily accessible underneath a locking screw
• the analogue inputs now have a 12-bit - resolution
• the command signal can be new also a digital-, frequency- or PWM-signal
• the feedback signal can be new also a frequency- or PWM-signal
• the parameterisation software PASO has a new graphic parameterisation  interface
• graphically indicated signal flow for easy and intuitive DSV - parameterisation
• more flexible and extended functionality
• the housing is 2mm higher

The valves successively will be supplied with the new electronics. The individual DSV - valves keep their current article numbers. An information sheet is provided with the new products, which informs about the changes.

A DSV is supplied ex works fully adjusted. The characteristic curve of the valve can be seen on the corresponding data sheet. This will also be the case with the new electronics. For the user, the hydraulic function of the valve does not change.

If additional adjustments are to be made on the valve, the parameterisation software PASO is available. The valve with the new USB - electronics for this purpose require the new PASO DSV - USB software. It can be downloaded under (www.wandfluh.com/Download/Software => PASO DSV with USB) free of charge. The new user interface simplifies the parameterisation and provides a clear indication of all relevant data. With this, you always have all information in full view.

A parameter file created with an older version of PASO DSV/SD6 can be loaded easily into the new PASO DSV USB software (menu "File - Open").

General

The parameterisation software PASO DSV (the "PASO") serves for the parameterising and diagnosing of all Electronic cards DSV of the WANDFLUH AG company. The software provides a user interface, through which by means of a keyboard or a mouse all adjustments and settings can easily be carried out. The communication with the digital card take place through a USB-interface.

The PASO can only be utilised in connection with a digital control card DSV of the Wandfluh AG company. It is necessary to carefully study the operating instructions of the connected digital control card beforehand.

A description of the different PASO versions is located in the file "history.pdf". This file is located in the directory where the PASO will be installed.

System requirements

In order to be able to correctly utilise the PASO, an IBM-compatible PC with the following requirements has to be available:

• Processor Pentium 1, min 1GHz, min. 16MB RAM
  Recommended: Pentium 4, 2GHz or higher, 32MB RAM or more
• Free harddisk storage space of minimum 4MB, plus
  storage space for program files
• Operating system Windows 2000, Windows XP or
  Windows Vista
• Standard VGA or higher graphics card,
  minimum resolution 800 x 600
  recommended resolution 1280 x 1024
• At least one USB interface (USB 1.1 or USB 2.0)
• USB cable type A => Mini B, male/male

Installation

The PASO software can be downloaded via the Internet free of change (www.wandfluh.com/Download/Software => PASO DSV with USB) or on request delivered on an installation-CD.

The installation of the PASO is then carried out by executing the file "setupPasoDSV.exe". An installation program takes over the complete installation of PASO. To them, the Windows Installer must be installed. This is normally a part of the Windows Environment. If not, please download it from the Microsoft Website.

If there is already a version of the PASO software installed on the PC, an update will automatically started.

The helpfiles are included in the setup and are installed automatically.
